Our german shepherd past and present
After over 30 years of breeding and competing with Australian Shepherds, I found myself drawn to the sport of Schutzhund. It became clear that I needed a breed better suited for this demanding discipline. That’s when my partner, Robert, picked out an incredible sable male puppy for me. Nirro and I began an adventure that would be a pivotal point in my training and trialing career.
While Schutzhund became my primary focus, I soon discovered that this breed had so much more to offer beyond just protection sports. We started branching out into Rally Obedience, then dove into Nose Work, followed by Fast Cat, Barn Hunt, NASDA, Fetch, and a variety of other exciting sports with our subsequent dogs. Each new challenge has only deepened my love for this amazing breed and the incredible bond we share!

Nirro was my first Schutzhund dog and a big powerful dog with deep-crushing grips. He was the perfect first dog, very forgiving as we learned together, allowed me to become a USA Schutzhund 3 Club member, contributed to my USCA Gold Sports Medal and loved showing up and coming helpers the ropes.
We lost Nirro in 2012 at 10 years of age to DM and not a day goes by that we don't miss that big boy.

Brittney came to us at age two after being re-homed several times. She completed the SchH3 title and was diagnosed with mammary cancer. After a complicated surgery and recovery she went on to complete the IPO2, AWD1 and Rally Advanced titles. Brittney retired from competition but enjoyed her retirements with an occasional outing to go tracking or assist a club member with their handling skills. We lost Brittney due to oral cancer in January 2015. Rest well sweet girl.

Isis was a marvelous all-around German Shepherd, sociable, versatile and driven. She has achieved Agility, Rally, Barn Hunt, K9 Nose Work and Schutzhund/IPO titles, Multiple High In Trial awards in Rally Obedience and Schtuzhund/IPO. She is a marvelous companion and competitive partner and retired from all but a few Nose Work competitions at age the age of 11 years. Sadly we lost Isis to Hemangiosarcoma in October 2019.
